Measure DD Endorsed by SMC Dems, 4Cs, AFSCME, UDW & More!

The San Mateo County Democratic Party, the Child Care Coordinating Council of San Mateo County, unions, community leaders, local organizations, and public officials all agree: Preschool for All South San Francisco is a big win for families living and working in San Mateo County.

Chelsea Bonini, SMC Board of Education, Vice President

I support Measure DD because it will create a sustainable early education system to support students, families, and teachers. All kids in San Mateo County should have access to quality early learning opportunities. It’s exciting that South San Francisco is leading the region on this issue!

I applaud and celebrate Measure DD. Now, more than ever, we need to invest in our working families and children. By giving parents a safe place for their children to learn and grow during the working day, this measure benefits children, parents, employers, and community members. This investment will improve our community—now, and in the long run.

Education is a human right first and foremost! Accessible, quality early education will bridge the education gap for youth of color, while providing much-needed support for working class families in South San Francisco.

Every child deserves the opportunity to succeed in the academic world and life without regard to their family’s financial status at the time of their birth. [The] passage of Measure DD will make significant improvements in workers’ families’ lives.

I support early child care and education for all because it is good for children, families, and our collective futures. By specifying a wage floor for early care and learning providers, Measure DD will ensure the high-quality care and learning that every child deserves.
